About Us

Earthly Gourmet is a Portland, Oregon based wholesale distributor of vegan, gluten-free, & raw gourmet foods, catering to restaurants, bakeries, independent cafes, food carts, food processors, and natural food stores in the Pacific Northwest (currently servicing Oregon, Washington, Northern California, and Idaho).

 

We strive to bring independent businesses naturally flavorful foods, consisting of only the highest quality ingredients, from local, artisan food makers while remaining compassionate to all living beings and the environment in the process.

Before Earthly Gourmet

1996-2001

Founder, Heman Bhojwani, worked as a financial analyst at a private investment firm.

2001-2005

Founder worked as exporter of Private Label Brands to Belize and the Caribbean.

2005-2006

Founder worked as an International Food Broker of organic brands, including Lakewood Organic Juices, Mexi-Snax Organic Tortilla Chips, Snikiddy Snacks, etc.

Earthly Gourmet Formed in 2006

Combining background in finance and experience in different levels of the grocery supply chain with passion for compassionate, healthy eating to form a distribution company in the most receptive marketplace (Pacific Northwest). Opened doors November 1st.

  • Produced homemade vegan sandwiches and soups. Went door to door to local business offices to offer lunch catering services.

  • Served hot soups locally in places like People’s Co-op, Alberta Co-op, and Food Fight Vegan Grocery

  • Began establishing relationships with food producers, bringing bulk / food service vegan options to local restaurants

2009

  • Acquired Sift Bakery to produce Gluten Free baked goods.

2011

  • Built relationships with local farmers to distribute seasonal produce to restaurants.

2013

  • Discontinued the produce program to focus on the expansion of chill/frozen/shelf stable vegan, gourmet & specialty products.

  • Acquired Tempest Tea to blend in-house and improve quality; then re-branded to ohQua Fine Teas.

2014

  • Expanded distribution routes into Central Oregon May

2017

  • Acquired Tofuna Fysh Sauce to improve and streamline ingredient-sourcing and broaden distribution channels.

2018

  • Expanded distribution routes into Northern Washington in January

2020

  • Launched in-house-made Vegan Feta

  • Expanded distribution routes into Southern Oregon and Northern California in March

  • Expanded distribution routes into Boise, Idaho in July

2024

  • Launched Joint Venture based in Japan.

Present

  • Continuously expanding distribution routes throughout Northern California, North Washington, Idaho, and all throughout Oregon
